Ask for an email, an optional first name and one qualifying question. Anything more costs you signups, so save it for after they join.

Ask for as little as you can and still pick your testers:

Email address (required)
First name (optional)
One qualifying question, such as what they'd use the product for or which device they're on

Every extra field gives people another reason to stop. Ask anything else once they're in the beta.

With a Gleam Capture, set User Action to Email Signup or Name + Email Signup on the Setup tab. For your qualifying question, add a custom field (Business Captures plan and above). Two Step Capture can also ask a yes or no question before the signup, which works as a quick filter.
