Can I Pause a Competition?
Gleam doesn't have a pause setting, but you can change a Competition's dates while it's running. Entries made before the break stay valid.
- Open your Competition and go to the Setup tab.
- Change Ends to when you want entries to stop, and save.
- When you're ready to reopen, set Ends back to your real end date and save again.
For example, to run 1 to 31 January with a break from 7 to 10 January, set Ends to 7 January. On 10 January, change it to 31 January.
While it's paused, the widget tells visitors the Competition has ended:
The widget doesn't say when you'll reopen, so some people won't come back. Tell your audience about the break and the reopening date by email or on social. Don't draw winners until the real end date.
Keep your final end date the one your terms promise. Repeatedly extending a Competition can get it flagged for review. Date settings are in Start & End Dates.
