What Is a Mandatory Action Type?
A Mandatory action is a gate. Entrants complete every Mandatory action first, and only then can they see and complete your other actions.
- Open the How to Enter tab of your Competition.
- Click the action you want to gate to expand its settings, or add one with Add a Way to Enter.
- Under Advanced, switch on Mandatory.
- Save, then check the widget preview. Your other actions stay locked until the Mandatory ones are done.
If you only have one Mandatory action, the widget opens it automatically so entrants see what to do straight away. That works well for a newsletter signup.
Be careful making a social action Mandatory. Not everyone has an account on every network, so you could lose entrants who'd happily have completed your other actions.

How Do I Delete a Competitions Campaign?
