Why Can't I Upload My Photo?

The message under the upload button tells you why. These are the ones you'll see:

  • Sorry, file size is limited to [size] MB: your photo is bigger than the host allows. Resize or compress it and try again.
  • Sorry, you can only upload [formats] files: that file type isn't accepted. Save the photo in one of the formats listed.
  • Sorry, you cannot upload empty files: the file has no data in it. Pick it again from your device.
  • Sorry, your upload failed. Please try again: the upload didn't finish. Check your connection and upload it again.

The host sets the size limit and the file types for each Action. Photos can be PNG, JPG, JPEG, TIF, TIFF, BMP or GIF, and the limit is 50 MB unless the host changes it. If your photo meets the rules and still won't upload, contact the host, because they run the Competition.

If the Action asks for an Instagram or TikTok post, upload the file first, then add your username and the post's link to finish your entry. Hosts can change their limits in the File Upload settings.
