Why Does Gleam Reject Brevo API Keys as Invalid?
Gleam only accepts a Brevo v3 API key, which starts with xkeysib-, so any other Brevo credential shows as invalid.
Brevo, formerly Sendinblue, issues several kinds of keys. SMTP credentials and other key types look similar, but Gleam's Brevo integration can't use them, so every attempt comes back as invalid.
- In Brevo, click your profile icon and go to SMTP & API > API Keys.
- Create a new API key. The one it generates starts with
xkeysib-. - In Gleam, go to Settings > Integrations, turn on Brevo and paste the key in.
- Add your default group name. The group has to exist in Brevo already, because Gleam can't create it.
- Switch Brevo on for the Competition itself as well as in your account settings.
Check that your site is on the Pro Plan or above, since the Brevo integration isn't available below that. Then send us your campaign link through our contact form and tell us which Brevo key type you used.
