How Do Organisation Accounts Differ From Business Accounts?

The difference is who controls the account and how people log in. A Business Account belongs to the person who created it and uses their login. An Organisation Account belongs to a verified organisation, and TikTok links each organisation to one business licence.

What you get with an Organisation Account, according to TikTok's help centre:

• Several members logged in at once, with verification codes instead of a password
• Admins who assign roles, and who alone can download the account's data
• An Official Account for the organisation, plus Affiliate Accounts for your reps
• The account stays with you when a staff member leaves

What you give up, from TikTok's list of unavailable features:

• Logging in to TikTok for Business with it
• The General Music Library (you use the Commercial Music Library)
• Creator Rewards, Subscription and some LIVE rewards
• Going back. You get a 15-day trial to opt out of the update, then it's permanent

For a Gleam giveaway, the account type matters less than you'd think. Entrants connect their own TikTok accounts, and you paste your profile or video link into the TikTok Actions. We haven't tested every Action with an Organisation Account, so run a test entry first.
