Why Can't Gleam Verify TikTok Follows Automatically?

Gleam can't verify TikTok follows automatically, so you check them yourself when you draw winners.

TikTok doesn't give platforms like ours a way to check who follows an account. Gleam can confirm that an entrant visited your TikTok profile and authorised their TikTok account, but we can't confirm that they pressed Follow. Your TikTok profile also has to be public for the Follow on TikTok Action to work.

1. Draw your winner as usual and open their entry.
2. Note the TikTok handle captured when they authorised their account.
3. Look for that handle in your TikTok follower list.
4. If they aren't following you, choose another winner.

If a failed login or authorisation error is the problem rather than verification, see our FAQ on why TikTok authorisation fails when you enter a giveaway. If follows matter a lot to your Competition, make an Action we can verify, like Subscribe to Newsletter, your main way in and treat the TikTok follow as a bonus.
