Why Have I Been Charged Twice After Upgrading?

An upgrade should charge you the prorated difference for the rest of your billing cycle, so two full charges in the same period aren't expected.

When you upgrade mid-cycle, the new plan takes effect straight away and you pay only the difference for the days left. Your next renewal stays on the same date at the new plan price. That means you can see your normal subscription payment and a smaller upgrade charge in the same month, which can look like a double charge. A second full charge in the same period is different, and we want to know about it.

  1. Open your billing portal and look at the invoices for the month. Your invoices are all there as PDFs.
  2. Check the amounts. A full renewal plus a smaller prorated charge is normal.
  3. If you see two full charges, or the checkout froze or looped while you upgraded, contact us through our contact form.
  4. Include the email on your Gleam account, the dates and the amounts. A confirmed duplicate charge gets refunded.

Refunds can take 5 to 10 business days to appear, depending on how your bank handles them. If it's been longer than that, send us the refund date and we'll check where it stands. You can compare plans on our pricing page.
