Why Do Shorter Forms Get More Entries in Online Sweepstakes?

Every field on your form is one more thing to fill in before someone gets an entry, and some people will give up rather than do it. That's especially true on a phone, or when someone has tapped through from a social post expecting a quick entry.

To keep your Gleam form short:

  1. Open the Pre-Entry tab of your Competition.
  2. Under Custom Fields, remove anything you added with Add Field that you won't use. Keep a field only if you can't run the promotion without it.

  1. Leave social logins on under Allow login with. When someone logs in with a social network, we prefill as much of their details as that network shares.
  2. Move "nice to know" questions to the How to Enter tab as optional Question actions. Anyone who answers earns extra entries, and anyone who skips still gets in.

Check the widget preview as you go. If someone has to scroll past fields before they can enter, the form is probably too long. The Custom Fields docs list every field you can add or remove.
