Gleam Stops Working in Wordpress When I Save a Post
Paste the embed code where WordPress won't rewrite it. In the block editor that's a Custom HTML block. In the Classic Editor, switch to Text mode first.
- Copy your embed code from your Competition's Embed in a Page or Blog Post install option.
- In the block editor, add a Custom HTML block and paste it in. In the Classic Editor, click Text and paste it there.
- Save or update the post.
- Check the saved post rather than an unsaved preview, which can show the widget as a plain text link.
Embedding Gleam in a Page or Blog Post covers the code itself, which is built so that switching back to Visual mode afterwards shouldn't break it.
Still disappearing after you save? A theme, page builder or security plugin may be stripping scripts. Test the post with that plugin switched off, or link to your Hosted Landing Page instead. Some WordPress.com plans don't run JavaScript in posts at all, and a link is the fix there too.
