Maine Contest and Sweepstakes Laws
Maine's unlawful gambling law is Title 17-A, Chapter 39. Section 952(6) defines a lottery as a scheme in which players pay for chances, winning chances are picked by a drawing or another method based on chance, and winners receive something of value. Section 952(10) defines something of value broadly, covering money, property and promises of either.
The statute doesn't mention promotional contests or free entry. The safest design is to charge nothing to enter and to avoid making a purchase the way to improve your odds.
In Gleam:

- Use Random Draw, or manual selection for a skill contest.
