How Do You Start A Giveaway Business?

A giveaway business sells campaigns, audiences or both. Pick the one you can deliver reliably.

  1. Choose a service. The simplest is a done-for-you giveaway package for brands that want more followers or email subscribers: setup, promotion, winner draw and a short results report.
  2. Learn the rules for each place you'll run campaigns. Our giveaway laws guide covers the US, and the Terms & Conditions Gleam generates for every Competition give you a starting point for client rules.
  3. Build campaigns from a template, then add the entry methods your client wants. You can add more sites to keep each client's data and branding separate.
  4. Report results. The Reporting tab shows entries, actions and top referrers for each campaign.
  5. Price per campaign or on a monthly retainer. Your client pays for prizes. Your fee covers your time, so keep the two separate in your quotes.

Check our pricing for the plan limits on winners and campaigns before you promise a number of campaigns to a client.

Every client's campaign has its own legal rules, and we don't give legal advice, so ask a lawyer when a client's promotion is complicated.
