Does Pausing My Campaign Stop My Subscription?

No. Pausing a campaign and pausing your subscription are two different actions in Gleam — and they affect different things. Here's exactly what each does.

Pausing a campaign is done by editing the campaign end date. The widget shows "This Competition has ended" and visitors can't enter, but existing entries remain valid. Your subscription continues to bill on its normal schedule — pausing a campaign has no effect on billing.

Pausing your subscription is a separate option available in the cancellation flow. When you pause your subscription:

  • Billing is paused for a set period
  • If you have a live campaign at the time of pausing, it will end — you'll see a warning before confirming
  • You keep access to your existing data and stats, but can't create or edit campaigns during the pause
  • Your plan resumes automatically once the pause period ends

Cancelling your subscription ends billing entirely. You keep paid-feature access until your current billing period ends, then your account auto-downgrades to the Free plan. Your campaigns and data stay in your account either way.

If you're not running campaigns for a while, downgrading to Free between campaigns is also a valid option — your data stays accessible indefinitely.

To manage your plan, go to your Dashboard → Plan button (top right).
