Can I Create a Custom Action for WhatsApp?
Yes. Gleam doesn't have a WhatsApp Action, but a Custom Action can send entrants into a chat with your business. Custom Actions need the Hobby Plan or above.
- Make a click-to-chat link:
https://wa.me/followed by your full number in international format, with no plus sign, brackets or dashes, such ashttps://wa.me/61400000000. Add?text=and a message to pre-fill the chat. WhatsApp's click to chat guide has the details. - On the How to Enter tab, add a Custom Action and put the link in its description.
- Under After Visiting, choose Ask a Question and ask for the number they messaged from.
Gleam can't see your WhatsApp chats, so it can't confirm a message was sent. Check the numbers against your chats before you pick winners.
On the Business Plan and above, the Viral Share Action can include WhatsApp as a sharing option, so entrants can send their link straight to friends.
Tip
Entrants only earn entries when a friend enters your campaign through their Viral Share link.
