Where Should the Share Action Go in the Widget?

Put Viral Share in the first four slots if your widget has nine or more actions. In Gleam Giveaway Benchmarks 2026, Edition 2, the typical paid giveaway with nine or more actions drew 10.4% of its entrants through referrals when Viral Share sat in the top four, against 6.4% when it sat fifth or later, across 2,750 giveaways from 577 businesses.

On widgets of eight actions or fewer, position barely mattered: 8.4% against 7.9%. With fewer actions, entrants see the share action wherever it is.

To move it:

  1. On the How to Enter tab, drag Viral Share into the top four. Entrants see actions in the same order.
  2. If you use mandatory actions, entrants see those first and the rest unlock afterwards. Put Viral Share straight after the mandatory ones, so it's the first optional action they meet.

Note

Organisers chose the order themselves, so top placement may mark the giveaways whose owners cared most about referrals rather than cause the difference. Only 2.3% of campaigns put Viral Share first, too few to report that slot on its own.
