Can You Use a Random Number Generator for Facebook Giveaways?
Yes. A random number generator is a fair way to pick a winner, as long as the list you draw from is complete and every entry on it is valid.
- Close entries at the time your rules say.
- Put every eligible entrant, such as each person who commented on your post, into a numbered list. Count each person once unless your rules allow extra entries.
- Generate one number between 1 and the last number on your list, and keep a record of the draw (a screen recording works).
- Check the winner followed your rules. If they didn't, draw again.
Facebook's Pages Terms apply too. Your promotion needs a complete release of Facebook by each entrant, has to say Facebook doesn't sponsor, endorse or run it, and can't ask people to share to their Timeline or tag friends to enter.
