How Do You Pick a Winner for a Facebook Giveaway?
Import the comments into a Gleam Competition and draw from there. You get a random pick from Random.org and a record of every entry if anyone asks how you chose.
- Create a Competition. On the How to Enter tab, add the Facebook Comments import and paste your public post's URL. It's on the Business Plan and above.
- Choose which comments count: Text Comments, Comments With Media or All Comments. Add a keyword or hashtag filter if your post asked for one.
- When the giveaway ends, check the entries and invalidate any that broke your rules.
- Open the Winners tab and draw. If a winner turns out to be ineligible, invalidate the entry and draw again.
Not on Business? Number your eligible commenters and use a random number generator, or paste their names into our free Random Name Picker. Either way, check the winner followed your rules before you announce them.
Don't make tagging friends a condition of entry, because Meta's promotion rules ban it.
They import the comments from a post and pick one at random. Gleam can import public Facebook comments into a Competition, filter them and then draw the winner.
