How Do Facebook Giveaway Comment Pickers Work?

A comment picker connects to your account, pulls the comments from one post and chooses a random one. The risk is that it picks a comment that didn't follow your rules, so you may need to check the winner.

In Gleam, you have two options:

  1. Import comments into a Competition. On the Business Plan and above, Facebook Comments imports comments from a public post. You can accept text comments, comments with media or all comments, and filter by a hashtag or word so only valid entries get in.
  2. Use a list. If you already have the commenters' names, our Random Name Picker draws a winner from a pasted list.

After the import, draw winners from the Winners tab. We use Random.org for the random draw, and you can invalidate an entry and pick again.

Meta's rules don't allow requiring people to tag others to enter, so write your comment instructions with that in mind. For Instagram posts, use our free Instagram Comment Picker, which needs a Business or Creator account connected through Facebook.
