Can I Ask for the Entrant's Phone Number?
Yes. You can ask every entrant for their number before they enter, or make it an entry method.
On the Business Plan and above:
- Open your campaign and go to the Pre-Entry tab.
- Under Add Custom Fields, click Add Field.
- Choose Phone Number.
Note
To check the numbers are real, connect Twilio under Site Settings > Integrations, then switch on Contestant Verification and Phone Number Verification on the Pre-Entry tab. Twilio texts each entrant a 4-digit code.
- On the How to Enter tab, click Add a Way to Enter and choose Answer a Question.
- Ask for the number, and use Instructions to say which format you want.
- Under Advanced, switch on Mandatory if everyone has to give one.
If you want people on your SMS list, use a Custom Action that links to your SMS provider's signup, and ask entrants for the confirmation code they receive:
