Can I Ask for the Entrant's Phone Number?

You can collect the entrant's phone number through the User Details form, a Question action, or Custom action.

There are a few ways to collect the entrant's phone number while running a Gleam campaign:

Note

Custom fields are available to users on the Business plan or above.

Custom Fields allow you to collect additional details from the entrant before they enter your campaign. You can use the preset Phone field to collect the entrant's phone number:

  1. Go to your campaign setup, and navigate to the User Details tab.
  2. Under the Add Custom Fields section, click on + Add Field
  3. Select Phone
Note

To verify the phone numbers collected, you can enable our Twilio integration and enable verification in the User Details tab.

Entrants can provide their phone number as a campaign entry method.

  1. Go to your campaign setup, and navigate to the How to Enter tab.
  2. Under the Add a way to enter section, click on Questions, then Answer a Question.
  3. Include brief instructions for entering a phone number.
  4. You can optionally reduce the max word count to match with your country's phone number format.
Tip

Check the entry method as Mandatory if you would like to collect phone number from all entrants.

If you would like for entrants to opt-in to SMS Marketing, you can create a Custom Action which asks entrants to register their phone number and provide verification at the same time.

Setting up opt-in for SMS marketing will depend on the platform you're using. You might ask entrants to text a certain number to opt-in, or create a link/button to an external website where the entrant can register for SMS marketing.

You can optionally ask for entry validation by asking entrants to enter a confirmation code after registering:
