How Many Winners Should a Giveaway Have?

There's no universal right number. Three questions help:

  • What can you afford? A single large prize and ten small ones cost different amounts, so start from the budget.
  • What's the goal? One headline prize suits a launch. A few winners can work better for a loyalty or list-building campaign, because entrants feel they have a chance.
  • Does your plan allow it? The number of winners you can draw depends on your Gleam plan, so check our pricing before you decide.

In Gleam, add each prize on the Prizes tab and set how many winners you want for it. When you draw, enter a number under Winners to Draw, and we number the winners from 1 upwards, which makes first, second and third place easy to assign. If you have multiple prizes, you can draw for all prizes at once or for one prize at a time.

You can also draw winners during the campaign, so daily or weekly winners don't have to wait until the end.

Don't offer too many winners if each prize needs shipping or follow-up. Every winner means more work for you.

How Do I Run LinkedIn Competitions?

You can't hold a contest on LinkedIn. Host it on your site or a Gleam landing page, share the link there, and don't reward LinkedIn engagement.
