Yes, Washington authorises promotional contests of chance as long as entrants don't have to pay or buy.
- RCW 9.46.0356 lets a business run a promotional contest of chance with prize and chance but no consideration.
- You can give extra entries for a purchase only if you offer a free alternative method of entry. That exception doesn't apply to direct-mail contests.
- Visiting a business location or answering questions isn't treated as consideration.
- Washington has no special sweepstakes registration or bonding rule in the statutes we checked.
Beyond these points, the general US rules on free entry and clear official rules likely apply.
