Can I Run Giveaways or Offer Discounts on Reddit?
Yes, as long as the subreddit you post in allows it. Reddit leaves giveaways and discounts to each community, and moderators enforce their own rules, so a post that's welcome in one subreddit gets removed (or gets you banned) in another.
- Read the subreddit's sidebar and wiki for rules on giveaways, discounts and self-promotion. If they're unclear, message the moderators before you post.
- Never ask people to upvote, comment on or award your post to enter. That's vote manipulation, and the Reddit Rules ban it in every subreddit.
- Host the entries off Reddit on a Gleam landing page, so your rules, entries and winner draw sit in one place. Our Reddit Actions let entrants log in with Reddit or visit your subreddit.
- Post the link with a plain title that says what's on offer and who can enter.
A discount code counts as promotion too, so it follows the same subreddit rules as a giveaway. Our guide to running a Reddit giveaway walks through the full setup.
