A normal giveaway spreads your campaign link. This one spreads your products.
Shoppers build a wishlist on your store, share the link, and enter to win it. Because the thing being shared is a page full of your products, every share works like a personal recommendation instead of a raffle ad. You reach Black Friday with a list of subscribers and a record of exactly what each one wants. Our Black Friday Promotion Guide covers where this sits alongside the rest of your sale.
\n• Your store needs a wishlist feature, either built in or through a wishlist app\n• Check that wishlists have a public share link, since that link is the entry\n• Decide whether the winner gets their whole wishlist or a capped value\n• If your app download action requires a paid app, enable the alternate entry method
Wishlists are the only shopping artefact people already share by habit. They existed before this campaign and they will exist after it, which is why the sharing here does not feel like a favour you are asking for. Someone sending their wishlist to a partner in November is doing something they would have done anyway.
For you, the submitted links are the payoff. Every entry names products, not just an email address, so you go into the sale knowing which items your list is waiting on. Read Black Friday Giveaway Ideas for other ways to use entry data before the sale.
This suits stores where shoppers browse and save before they buy.
Entries flow into your email platform as they arrive, so your pre-sale list is ready before the sale opens. Connect Klaviyo, Mailchimp, MailerLite, ActiveCampaign, HubSpot and more from the Integrations Directory.

1. Check your store's wishlist
Confirm shoppers can create a wishlist and that it produces a public share link. That link is the entry, so if your store cannot generate one, install a wishlist app before you build the campaign.
2. Start a new Competition
Create a Competition and name it so the mechanic is obvious, for example "Build your wishlist, win it".
3. Set the prize
Decide whether the winner receives their full wishlist or a capped value, and say which on the prize tab. Cap it if your catalogue includes high ticket items, because an uncapped wishlist prize is unpredictable.
4. Capture the email
Add the subscribe action and make it mandatory, so every entrant joins your list. ➡ Collect Emails With The Subscribe Action
5. Send them to build it
Add a visit action pointing at your wishlist page or Black Friday collection, worth two entries. ➡ Set Up A Visit Action
6. Collect the wishlist link
Add a Custom action set to "Ask a Question". Title it "Share Your Wishlist", write content telling entrants to copy their wishlist share link, and ask them to paste it. On Business plans use the Format field to restrict responses to your store's URL pattern. Worth four entries, because this is the campaign. ➡ Set Up A Custom Action
7. Add your Instagram actions
Add a comment action on your Black Friday post and a follow action for your profile. ➡ Configure Instagram Actions
8. Add sharing
Add a share action on X and a referral action for bonus entries. These spread the campaign, while step 6 spreads the products. ➡ Set Up Referral Entries
9. Add the app download
Link to your listing on the App Store or Google Play. If your app costs money, tick the purchase required box so Gleam shows an alternate method of entry where the law requires one. ➡ Configure App Download Actions
10. Connect your email platform
Link Klaviyo, Mailchimp or whichever platform you use, so entries sync as they arrive. ➡ Connect An Integration
11. Install it on your page
Embed the campaign on your Black Friday landing page and link to it from your navigation and pre-sale emails. ➡ Add Your Giveaway To A Page
12. Draw your winner and read the lists
Run the draw when the sale ends, then sort the submitted wishlists by which products appear most. That ranking is what you feature on Cyber Monday. ➡ Pick Winners With Quick Draws
